It is definitely a compression tight!! Wow, almost impossible to get on when your tummy is in the way and you have to hold your breath to bend over (and try not to pass out). Once on, they are great though. I actually felt that the compression in the stomach was non existent, but then again, I'm used to spanx, and this was definitely less. They felt great on my legs and stayed up the entire day! (yay! my other maternity tights definitely do not). So, while I love them, I just have to make sure to leave an extra 5-10 minutes in my morning routine to get them on.Also, someone else mentioned the "toe balloon". I also found this really strange, and the extra material stuck out over the front of my shoe. not attractive, but whatever, I would still buy again.I have 8 weeks left in my pregnancy and I bought these only for an airplane flight because airplanes and all the walking I'd have to do in the airport would have made my legs hurt a lot. They were hard to put on, as others have stated, but that does seem to be the point. Once I got them over my heel it was just a slow work up the leg. They were great on my legs but too tight on my tummy. I wish the part around the waist had been a little bigger. But, my legs felt good after the airplane flights so they were still very worth it.I'm 5'3" and pre-pregnancy weight of approximately 130-- I ordered these in a size medium and I'm definitely glad I didn't order any smaller. The tights do their job well, but at 25 weeks pregnant they are beginning to feel tight around my lower stomach when I sit down. They cut into my ankles as well, I may get tights with feet next time to avoid that issue. I stand all day at my job and feel like these definitely help my circulation issues, but I may need a bigger size or tights that do not go over my stomach in the coming weeks!I bought these because I worked in an extremely corporate office and needed to wear some tights with my dresses. I had a lot of water weight and I heard that tights would help. Nothing is comfortable when you are pregnant unless you are wearing a mumu. Getting tights on/off when you are preg is like wrestling a bear. That said. They were sturdy enough to withstand my yanking and they were opaque enough for winter coverage. If you need tights while your preg I recommend these otherwise I recommend sweatpants.I cannot say enough good things about these tights. So far, they are the ONLY thing that has helped my swollen feet and ankles. I am 6 1/2 months pregnant, and have been experiencing swelling since my fifth month. I have tried cutting back on sodium, elevating my legs, and even compression socks, all of which did very little good. As some of the other reviews have pointed out, these are difficult to get on - I was sweating (and laughing at myself) by the end of the ordeal. But, once you get them on, they are very comfortable. I also suggest following the manufacturer's guidelines and ordering by your pre-pregnancy weight. I did so and, once I got them on, they were actually even a tiny bit big. I only wish they came in multiple colors.I wore these tights to work throughout most of my pregnancy. They were a life-saver during winter, when dresses were most comfortable to wear since I was pregnant. When I got to about 35-36 weeks the tights started to feel too tight and uncomfortable on my baby belly, but until then, they felt great. I also felt like they helped my legs a little bit with circulation.I am 5'7", 135 (pre-pregnancy), and the size medium fit me perfectly. The tight run small in size. I'd ordered a medium based on my pregnancy pant size (using the sizing chart) but struggled to get the tights over my thighs. However the compression tights did a great job at controlling the swelling in my feet.Difficult for a pregnant woman to get these on, but they work well and are comfortable. Bought these in a medium, maybe should have got a large but M seems to fit ok. 5'5 and 145lb or so at 25 weeks pregnant.a great item, prevents varicose veins during pregnancy. highly recommendedReally nice, comfortable and effective productCould travel all day without any pain or discomfort. Otherwise my ankles hurt after an hour of driving or flying.
