My mom was upset that I chose a muumuu for a wedding dress... until she saw what I had done to it. I wanted to be comfortable, and for this moment to be less about the stuff and things, and more about the sentiment. This day was absolutely perfect. This dress was absolutely stunning. I went to the bridal shop, tried on a ton of dresses, and not one of them made me feel like this one did.I ordered two because I wasn’t sure of the size I’d need and we planned our destination wedding/elopement in 3 weeks.I ordered a medium and a large. I could have fit the medium. I’m a size 10/12 in dresses... size 12 in pants. 34DDD bra size. I posted a photo of me in the original dress right out of the package it came in, so you can see how it comes, and the difference. It was still super comfy and perfect, but I was inspired to do more....Alterations:The large gave me room to play with it, so we started pinning, rouching, and cut the medium size dress up to make a train.I also had the sleeves altered to be only half of the ruffles.The train was/is detachable and fixed solely with 3 pearl buttons. I could take it on or off or hold it by the electric band she sewed on for me. This was a breeze to do, and no one else in the world has a dress like mine!!!My heart is so full. The dressmaker I had was amazing and even though she didn’t have much time, she was able to help me turn a “cheap dress” into something people are still talking about!It was sooo comfy!!! Perfect for a beach wedding!!!
