Especially under dresses so my thighs don't rub together. It has a lot of stretch to it, so it doesn't feel tight around my belly, but it doesn't slide down either. I can't stand when maternity pants are too tight around the belly. I wouldn't wear these as shorts to be seen, if you know what I mean. The crotch area looks a little "frumpy". But perfect under dresses and oversized t-shirts, and to lounge around the house.
