Due to the lack of explanation of sizing ordering this was taking a shot in the dark. I had to assume what the sizing meant and I believe it was accurate. The first number appears to be the measurement at the bust and the second number is the length. I am petite but plus size, I wear a 16-18 (XXL or 1X) so I ordered the 40-39. The size is snug on me, but still fits nicely. When considering the bust, the sizing makes complete sense. I did order the next size up and I anticipate that will fit even better, but for a nice body-hugging fit this works perfectly!I was frustrated with the maternity dresses I tried on because of the deep bust lines on each dress made nearly every dress inappropriate. This slip added a the perfect amount of coverage. It also provided coverage for underwear under this sheer white dress. All around I am impressed with the quality of the slip. However, the sizing should be better explained for those who do not want to deal with ordering multiple sizes and returning.
